Anime review: Kemono No Souja Erin (Beast Player Erin)

I just started watching an anime series called Kemono No Souja Erin (Beast Player Erin). It is more of a drama series, very heart warming and emotional anime series. It is all about the life of a little girl named Erin, and all the ups and downs in her life including loosing her mother at the age of 10. And how Erin is throw into war due to her ability. It is kind of a slow series that takes place over 8 years of Erin's life, but that's what make you more attach to the story and the characters, especially Erin.

Perhaps is it because of its title Kemono No Souja Erin (Beast Player Erin) that many reviews are stating that Erin can control beasts. Saying she can control beasts is misleading. The actual fact is, Erin is a very bright, kind, and down to earth little girl who loves to learn about everything around her. She has a very knee sense of observation, and the ability to absorb the information that she learns. That is how she discover a way to communicate with an Ohju (Beast-Lord) named Lilan.

Spoiler warning!
The series starts out with the introduction to Erin's childhood with her mother a Touda healer, Toudas are giant lizards that the army use in battle. After her mother died, Erin was send to the neighbouring country. There she found a new life with Joun the beekeeper. Erin came across wild Ohju, a giant bird like creature with a wolf head, and she's been fascinated with Ohju ever since.
It is said that beasts can never befriend with human. At a school, Erin met a baby Ohju named Lilan. Through Erin's patient, knowledge and her knee observations, Erin was able to get Lilan to trust her and open up to her. And consequently Erin has befriended with Lilan the Ohju. No one was able to communicate or get close to Ohju without using silent whistle that petrify and stun the animal since the ancient time. Erin's relationship with Lilan was soon discovered by the official and now she's been thrown into war. And all Erin ever wanted is to find a way to return Lilan into the wild.

It is really a good series to watch! I definitely recommend anyone to watch it. Here's the link to my favorite Anime site to watch Kemono No Souja Erin (Beast Player Erin)!

FMA- Brotherhood

As I mention before that there are currently 2 Fullmetal Alchemist (FMA) series out there at the moment. The first 10 episodes or so from FMA Brotherhood are pretty much a recap from the original FMA as I mentioned from the previous post. But now the story took a different turn from the original FMA. New characters, and different story line.

The whole concept behind the philosopher stone is completely different from the original FMA. And the structure behind homunculus are really different as well. I don't want to go into details because I don't want to spoil it from those who are watching the series. Personally, I'm not sure if I like it or not. I guess I'll have to see after the series is actually finish. Currently, it's up to episode 25 for FMA Brotherhood and still going.

Fullmetal Alchemist (Hagane No Renkinjutsushi)

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of my favorite anime series out there. Japanse name is Hagane No Renkinjutsushi. The anime is awesome, good story line and it has lots of funny moments. The basic story line is the set of brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, searching for the legendary philosopher stone. You'll find out the reason why they are searching for the stone, and their really "interesting" journey while they're searching for the stone. It is a worth while series watch for sure.
There are actually 2 Fullmetal Alchemist series out there right now. the original Fullmetal Alchemist, and Fullmetal Alchemist (2009). The original is a definite must watch. There are 51 episode to the original series, the 2009 show is still on going at the moment. The difference is, they skip a lot of details and speed up the events in 2009 show, and currently showing deviation to story line from the original series. And introducing new characters in 2009 show as well. They are both fun to watch to be honest, but I would start with the original series before you move on to the 2009 series.

Animeseason.com is one of my favorite source for watching anime.
